Nominations and Board Elections

posted May 26, 2015, 6:20 AM by Fina Santa-Maria
Next month at our June 30th meeting we will hold the annual election of officers and Board members for the Federal Hill South Neighborhood Association. Nominations for the Board will be accepted this month at the May 26th meeting. Any resident of the neighborhood is eligible to serve on the Board. This applies to home owners and renters alike.

The Board consists of four officers – President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary – and five At-Large Directors. This past year the Board had a full slate of nine members for the second year in a row but undoubtedly there will be some turnover and some open positions. And if not, then challenge the incumbents. A contested race will bring out the best in all of the candidates.

A diverse group of residents on the Board brings a mix of talents, ideas, experience, opinions and energy that are necessary for running the association and representing the neighborhood. If you have some ideas about how to make our neighborhood even better then consider this your chance to get involved. To borrow a phrase, “Be the change that you want to see in the neighborhood”.

If you have an interest in serving the neighborhood and want to learn more about volunteering as a Board member contact the current President, Mark Jaskulski at
