Next Community Clean-Up on Saturday, Nov 9th

Volunteers needed to help with clean ups!

Our first three community clean-ups this year have all been great events. The dumpster is always filled to the top with a combination of street and yard debris and every form of household junk.

Our fourth and final clean-up is scheduled for Saturday, Nov 9th from 9 am-noon. A dumpster will be delivered that morning at the corner of Battery and Gittings. Bags, rakes, brooms and shovels will be available starting at 9:00. Please don’t bring trash to dump until after 10:00 when the dumpster arrives.

We always need a few volunteers to help man (or woman) the dumpster and to make sure it is packed efficiently. A big thank you goes out to Jonathan Julian who volunteered at our last clean-up on Sept. 14th.   Our Cleanup Committee is really a committee of one, consisting of the Chairperson Mary Concannon.  Fortunately her husband Michael is always a willing participant and can be found in and around the dumpster on cleanup day.  Certainly there are some other dumpster divers out there with a desire for a clean neighborhood and a few hours to spare on a Saturday.  It really is good clean fun and you get to meet a lot of neighbors.

Baltimore DPW provides a dumpster for up to four community cleanup events each year.  Look for the first cleanup of 2014 to be scheduled sometime in April.  We all need to pitch in to keep our neighborhood beautiful.
