Upcoming Events

FHS Neighborhood Cleanup!

Saturday, April 26th from 9am to 1pm, your FHS Board and Trash Committee is eagerly looking forward to seeing everyone in the neighborhood out and about sweeping their streets and alleys, pruning and watering street corner planters and flower boxes, and lending a hand to neighbors throughout the community! We'll have large bags, gloves and brooms and a huge dumpster located at the corner of West and Battery. Just leave your bags on any corner, a volunteer will be going around and picking them up to toss in the dumpster. If you have an alley or block that needs extra attention, let Steve or Fred know and they'll hook up some volunteers to help you out. Looking forward to seeing everyone in FHS out on April 26th!

Last year's fall cleanup was held on October 12. As usual, it was a success with dozens of people throughout the neighborhood participating. Even the Mayor stopped by to wish us well.

Trash Information

Trash collection: Every Tuesday and Friday

Trash should be put out for collection on the night before or the morning of collection day in metal or plastic containers with tight-fitting lids. Plastic bags are a violation of the sanitation code, as they attract rats and other rodents.

Recycling collection:

Recyclables are collected from the front of homes - do not place in alleys.

  • Bottles and cans - the second and fourth Monday of the month. Bottles and cans should be rinsed clean and placed in blue plastic bags or in a recycling bin.
  • Paper - the second and fourth Friday of the month. Paper should be placed in paper bags, tied with string or placed in a recycling bin.
  • If a bin is used, printing on the container must indicate that the bin contains recycling materials.

Bulk trash:

Call 410-361-9333 at least three days before our bulk trash collection day (the first Tuesday of the month) to request bulk trash pickup.

Other:

  • Corner trash receptacles are for pedestrian trash, not household trash
