Mission
The goal of the FHS Social Committee is to provide a forum for people to meet and to encourage interaction among Federal Hill South neighbors through regular activities in a social setting.

Activities
To meet this goal, the Social Committee organizes event every month, and holds several signature annual events each year, including the Holiday Party, the Spring Party in the Park, and the Spring Wine Tasting. During the past year we’ve held happy hours at Clayton’s Tavern, Beach Bum’s Ice Cream, Crazy Lil’s, No Way Jose Café, among other fine Federal Hill establishments. Last year over 100 people attended the Party in the Park and the Wine Tasting, and the Holiday Party was a large success, too. The biggest part of the success is that many neighbors got to know each other better, and new friendships were cultivated. This is our goal to help strengthen the sense of community in Federal Hill South. All kinds of social events are scheduled as neighbors express an interest, and new ideas are always welcome!

FHS Wine Tasting At Visionary Arts Museum
We’ll be hosting the 5th Annual FHS Wine Tasting at the Visionary Arts Museum again this year, on Thursday, May 18th, 2006 from 7pm to 10pm.
The event features a selection of reds and whites provided by Vineyard Wine and Spirits, The Vine, along with a variety of hors d'oeuvres courtesy of many fine Federal Hill establishments. Also, live acoustic music by Aaron Zvi - who has been featured at our wine tasting event several years in a row.
Cost is $30 at the door, and includes a Reidel wine glass. Cash or check payable to Federal Hill South will be accepted. RSVP is requested by May 5th by sending an email to federalhillsouth@juno.com. Thank you to neighbors April Sellers and Coleman Devlin for organizing this event.
FHS Spring Block Party (AKA "Party in the Park")
The Federal Hill South Neighborhood Association Party in the Park is back again this spring, and takes place on Saturday, May 13th, 2006 from noon to 5pm. All neighbors and families are encouraged to swing by Henry Street Park located on the block between Gittings and Folsom for some neighborly fun, including hot dogs and burgers, a live family friendly band, games, arts, crafts, a moon bounce, a real fire truck, socializing, raffle and more. Beer will be served for a nominal fee. Please come by! We are currently looking for a Social Committee Chairperson who has lots of ideas and energy to organize monthly events that will attract good turnouts. If interested, please email federalhillsouth@juno.com.
